The Application Process
Across the Pond provides information about degree programs and our partner universities in good faith and makes reasonable efforts to ensure all information is as accurate and up-to-date as possible.
Neither Across the Pond, nor its associates, are responsible or liable for any loss or damage (including, but not limited to, actual, consequential, or punitive), liability, claim, or other injury or cause related or resulting from any information obtained from our clients.
Across the Pond are not liable for your application and process all applications to the best of our ability. It is your responsibility to check with Across the Pond and the university/s that your application has been received.
You must also ensure that all transcripts and test scores are your own and are genuine. Across the Pond does not guarantee acceptance to any of our university partners.
Across the Pond only works with our partner universities and only submits applications through the British Admission Service (UCAS) or directly to a university via that university’s individual application form(s) or portal(s).
The final admissions decision lies with the university. You, the student, are not obligated to only apply to Across the Pond’s partner universities, but these are the only universities we can help you apply to.
Across the Pond endeavours to comply fully with the Data Protection Act 1998 in its handling of personal data. We aim to keep your data safely and securely and to use them only for stated purposes.
Where you give us personal data through the website in order for us to provide you with a service, your data will be used in connection with that service. In some cases we may hold data for use in connection with future contacts you may make with the Organisation. For example, data obtained during the recruitment process may be linked with data subsequently collected if you enrol as a student with a university.
We do not sell or give your data to other organisations or universities for marketing purposes unless specifically authorised by you. By completing an enquiry you are agreeing to Across the Pond contacting you and we may use your data to make you aware of similar services or key events relevant to your application process or that you have enquired about. We offer you the opportunity to decline such future contact by unsubscribing via an unsubscribe link or by emailing an Across the Pond Advisor depending on the nature of the communication.
We may pass some of your data to other organisations if this is required by law, is necessary for the prevention or detection of crime, or is necessary in order to provide particular services to you. The Organisation collects the personal data of prospective students, whenever enquiries are made (this includes any method of enquiry).
If you wish to stop your data being retained by the Organisation, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note that in most cases the Organisation is unable to disclose information about students in response to third party requests (including those made by parents) without the prior written consent of the individual concerned, unless it is necessary to do so in order to comply with legal requirements or to prevent or detect crime.
You have the right under the Act to request copies of personal data relating to yourself that are held by the Organisation. Such requests should be made in writing to the email address above or by contacting your Across the Pond personal advisor. It is helpful if you can provide information that may assist us in our search for the data that you are seeking, such as your application reference.
When you use the website, information about the IP address and browser that your computer is using will be made known to us. We may use such information to monitor how our websites are used, which pages are visited and how often visits are made.
